Welcoming International Women's Day, Second Chance Foundation Holds Makeup and Hairstyling Training at Class IIA Tangerang Women's Correctional Facility
Tangerang – In commemorating International Women's Day 2025, which falls on March 8, the Second Chance Foundation again manifested an inspiring collaborative spirit by holding Makeup And Hair Styling training activities. This activity aims to empower vulnerable and marginalized women, especially for Inmates (WB) in Correctional Institutions. Through this skills training, it is hoped that it will be helpful as a provision for the future when they have completed their prison term and return to society.

The training will take place for two days, 5 - 6 March 2025, with the theme "For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality." It is a Second Chance Foundation collaborative program with Rosliyanti Wangi, a Professional Makeup Artist, and Lili Dahlia, a professional hairstylist, and Class IIA Tangerang Women's Correctional Facility.

The first day of training opened with remarks from the founder of the Second Chance Foundation, Mrs. Evy Amir Syamsudin, who expressed her appreciation and great hopes for the participants. In her speech, Mrs. Evy emphasized that this training was not only aimed at providing technical skills but also to inspire enthusiasm and motivation for the inmates to remain enthusiastic in building a better future. "We believe every woman has extraordinary potential that needs to be supported and developed. This training is the first step to help them achieve independence after reintegration to society," said Mrs. Evy in her speech.

This training is a form of commitment by the SCF to apply the Bangkok Rules and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which focus on reintegrating female inmates into society with the relevant skills to meet market needs.

A total of 26 Women Inmates (WB) enthusiastically participated in this training. Participants learned modern and traditional makeup techniques, including the effective use of makeup tools and products. They were also introduced to basic hairstyling techniques applicable to the beauty industry's needs.
The second day of training focused on advanced practice and reviewing the material that had been provided previously. Professional instructors assisted the participants in improving their techniques and understanding how to develop beauty services as a business opportunity in the future. Additional training was also held to provide insight to participants on how to use social media to market their services.

As the name implies, the Second Chance Foundation seeks to provide a second chance for inmates. After finishing their detention, they become creative, productive, independent human beings who can be accepted back in their society as human beings with dignity and not repeat their mistakes. In addition, the Second Chance Foundation also seeks to increase public awareness by involving partners and sharing information on the good things that inmates and ex-inmates get and do.
